How To Work Health Insurance Leads
Whether you're new to working health insurance leads or an old pro, check out these tips for maximizing your return on investment.
Call within 30 minutes. Studies have shown that online leads lose interest with every 30 minutes that passes after they make their original request for information. That means you will have the best shot at reaching the prospect and getting their attention if you can call within 30 minutes of receiving it.
Check for new leads often. Health insurance prospects don't hop online at the same time every day to hunt down plans. While your lead account is turned on, you never know when an eager prospect has popped up in your email inbox. Keep checking for new leads in your lead management system, or on any internet-ready phone, PDA or laptop.
Call with quotes in hand. Your leads should come with all the information you need to whip out a fast quote using your quote engine. Agents often report greater success when they can email a quote and walk a prospect through it on the very first phone call.
Plan multiple calls for each health insurance lead. Don't expect to reach every lead on the first try. It may take several attempts to either contact your lead or to get the application from them. Build in the time for a few follow-up phone calls for each one.
Use autoresponders. Agents also report that drip marketing tools like email autoresponders make following up with leads much less time-consuming. Because leads receive fresh messages and updated quotes on a regular basis, agents are even able to turn tire kickers into commissions without lifting a finger.
